Ever since Mahira Khan joined the cast of SRK’s upcoming film Raees as his leading lady, fans have been excited on both ends of the border. While cross-border exchange took off well before Fawad and Mahira hit the scene, it is the first time a Pakistani actress has been cast opposite Bollywood king SRK and that in itself is an achievement. But while fans got a taste of SRK’s rugged, brazen look in Raees teaser trailer, which was unveiled late last year, Mahira’s look was kept well under wraps.
However, it seems cat’s out of the bag as the actress was snapped shooting in Ahmedabad, Gujarat alongside Khan. Mahira, who is dressed in a red, embellished shalwar kameez, looks the part of a Muslim girl from the 1980s. She looks gorgeous as always and was reportedly shooting a nikkah sequence at Sarkhej Roza with SRK for the film, in which she is reportedly playing his wife (and right hand man).
About a couple of days ago, SRK’s car came under attack in Gujarat only where Hindu extremists pelted stones at his car and burnt his effigies. While at the shoot, devotees were also agitated because they had trouble offering prayers as the ‘roza’ was closed for shooting.
Raees also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui as a cop and is expected to release around Eid, this year.
