With the ever changing trends and wedding season always being in, we often run out of options and ideas to do something differently in each event so we don’t end up looking the same in every wedding picture. Knowing how to style your dress and pairing it with the perfect hair, makeup and jewellery is key to making an outfit standout. You can even take an old outfit and snazz it up in a completely differently way to make it appear new and no one will be able to tell whether you’re repeating an old outfit. When it comes to styling and fashion, one either looks at runways of fashion shows or the red carpets of award ceremonies. These are the quintessential platforms to draw inspiration from for an outfit that will stand out; especially when it comes to your formal wear. To help you pull off the best star-status trends for your own festive event, we head on down to the ramp of the recently held Kashee’s Bridal festive 2022 solo showcase by Kashif Aslam. From fierce colours to dewy makeup, to statement jewellery, here is a style guide for you to get you all the right kind of attention at your next festivity...

If you love ethnic jewellery, the good news is that the traditional heavy jewellery pieces are back. Let your jewellery do the talking by opting for a heavy matha patti with matching earrings, necklace and teeka. This goes well with any dress and can instantly give your outfit an oomph factor without having to do anything else. Keeping the makeup and hair simple is what makes this look a success. As seen here, which can be paired with any formal attire either to look dressed up or dressed down.

When in doubt, opt for minimal makeup as it suits almost every style. Shaista Lodhi’s makeover is a glowy skin with peachy blush and minimal contour. Her eye makeup is also subdued with a simple liner and a pink lip. Her hair is let loose in waves and the only thing that stands out in her look is the colour of her dress. Sometimes, the colour of your outfit is enough and doesn’t need much.

A sculpted face with red lips is very flattering on fairer skin, as seen here on Neelum Munir. Focusing on one feature, whether it be a powerful eye and more demure lip or a more neutral eye and red lip, will help balance a red dress look. In this case, a subtle glossy red lip is what pairs well with the bright red lehenga.

A matte finish foundation, well-defined brow, shimmery eyes and rosy lips will balance out a heavy dress; like it did for this bright yellow and pink number, which features embedded crafted floral motifs in zari and Swarovski crystals and traditional embroidery work unleashing a dazzling colour palette.

While a top knot or a neat bun looks elegant, this season is all about the texture of your hair. On the ramp, actress Reema Khan was seen in soft curls which looked perfect for a casual or a formal event. Her makeup flawlessly synced with her outfit in tones of pink and peaches. Her soft glam eyes paired perfectly with a matte lip without overshadowing the dress.

If you’re dressing up for an event or a special occasion, you can always experiment with the eye makeup. Take a cue from this look, which keeps the skin free from heavy makeup, making it look radiant. The statement eyes create the perfect contrast to the nude palette, keeping the eyes as the centre of attention. The subtle yet glam makeup pairs perfectly with the red outfit which in itself is eye catching with motifs on the upper body, floral sequin work on the bottom finishing off with a heavy kiran matching the same on the dupatta as well.

If there’s one rule that Kashif Aslam follows religiously it’s ‘go big or go home’. This vibrant yellow dress is a testimony to just that. A flowy anarkali with heavy motif work on the border is what makes this dress stand out. A subtle shade of blue can be seen in the work across the dress which complements the whole palette without making it too overpowering.

Level up your look with these flirty pink sparkly lids that own the room. This look works well with a matte lip and a clean base with a subtle blush. Paired with a neat bun and accentuated jewellery, this look works on any occasion.

You can never go wrong with pink. It works on every occasion and is easy to style and carry. As seen here on Benita David, the traditional embroidery work and floral motifs, which remains synonymous throughout the collection, stands out specifically on this beautiful shade of pink. The look is completed with minimum jewellery, flowy locks and a simple yet glossy makeup look.

When in doubt, go all out. If you feel like dressing down to the nines, take inspiration from this look. The trick is to create a harmony between your makeup and the dress. This subtle shade of yellow gives you the chance to go heavy with the makeup look.

A flawless base with a definite contour, smokey eyes and peach lips is what defines this full glam look. Opt for a similar traditional bun, giving your makeup the chance to shine and dazzle.
