Panel formed to auction Nawaz’s commercial, agri land

LAHORE: The district administration along with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and other government departments has constituted a committee to auction the property of former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. Sources said the committee was formed on the directions of a NAB court order. Sources in the district administration said the NAB court ordered auction of Nawaz Sharif’s properties and directed the government machinery to completed its work as soon as possible.

The auction committee includes additional deputy commissioner revenue, deputy director NAB, building department, finance department, assistant commissioner Raiwind and assistant commissioner Cantt. Sources said out of the 5 kanal and 8 marla land of the head office of 135 Upper Mall Brothers Sugar Mill in Mouza Mian Mir, two kanal and 8 marla land will also be auctioned as it was owned by Nawaz Sharif. The other land owned by Nawaz, which will be auctioned, included 936 kanal and 10 marla agricultural land in Jati Umrah and 363 kanal agricultural land in Mouza Baduki Sani. Sources said the committee had completed the related work pertaining to the auction. Sources said the rate per acre in Badoki Sani was Rs8 million. Sources said the committee had also written letters to the LDA to access the value of the commercial property of Mian Nawaz Sharif.
