Making room

The entrance to the Emergency Room at Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad is no better than a fish market due to heavy traffic. The Islamabad traffic police should make the street facing southwards from the ER into a one-way street. Traffic should be allowed eastward so that vehicles enter through the ‘in’ gate and turn left after exiting the ‘out’ gate.
The CDA is also requested to widen the road and make arrangements for parking. The area that was previously used for parking has now been planted with trees. While I realise the importance of planting trees, the health and safety of human beings should take priority over the environment. The CDA should ensure that patients and their families are able to visit the hospital without facing any unnecessary inconvenience.
