Minorities to get Rs29m financial assistance

PESHAWAR: On the directives of the chief minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the government has decided to provide financial assistance amounting to Rs29 million to the poor members of the minority community.

The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Minority Affairs Wazirzada. MPA Wilson Wazir, Secretary Auqaf, Hajj, Religious and Minority Affairs Farrukh Sair and Deputy Secretary Ali Raza attend the meeting. Wazirzada said that under the Ehsaas Programme, minorities were also being provided financial assistance. At the meeting, it was decided to provide Rs8 million to 8000 poor families in the merged districts, while Rs5 million will be provided to under treatment patients and Rs5 million to orphan girls for marriage. Similarly, Rs1 million will be given to 100 orphan children from the merged districts.
