Four killed in road accident

FAISALABAD: Four people died in a road accident on Wednesday. A Multan-bound van hit a parked truck on Interchange of Shorkot Motorways, leaving four passengers dead on the spot and three others wounded critically. Reportedly, the accident occurred when the driver of the van fell asleep while driving the vehicle. The injured were removed to Shortkot tehsil headquarters hospital where the condition of two people is stated to be critical.

16 PEOPLE DISCHARGED FROM QUARANTINE CENTRE: Sixteen people out of 21 have been allowed to go their homes after their recovery from coronavirus. Some 21 coronavirus suspects were kept at the quarantine camp on Jhang Road.

3 SIS DEMOTED OVER POOR PERFORMANCE: City Police Officer (CPO) Sohail Chaudhry Wednesday demoted 3 police sub-inspectors (SIs) over corruption and poor performance. The CPO demoted SIs Basharat Ali Awan, Khizer Hayat and Jwaid Akram as ASIs. He also terminated cop Mohsin Ali and demoted Head Constable Imtiaz Ahmed to the rank of a constable over poor performance.
