BARA: The political administration has distributed compensation cheques among the families of 28 victims of militancy and military operations in Bara sub-division of Khyber Agency.
The cheques were handed over at a ceremony held in the Khyber House on Tuesday. A number of tribal elders and relatives of the slain and injured persons attended the event.
Political Agent Khyber Agency Syed Shahab Ali Shah handed over the cheques to the affectees.
Talking to reporters, Political Agent Syed Shahab Ali Shah said that Rs8.6 million had distributed among the families of slain and injured persons. He said family members of the dead and injured were given Rs300, 000 and Rs100,000, respectively.
The political agent also distributed Rs4.7 million checques under the martyred package among the heirs of three Khassadar personnel.
Syed Shahab Ali Shah said that the administration had started compensating tribespeople who had suffered during the ongoing militancy.
