AK Foundation to provide food to patients & attendants at hospital

PESHAWAR: Al-Khidmat Foundation has announced to provide food to patients and their attendants at Police & Services Hospital for one month.

The Police & Services Hospital has been dedicated to initial tests of suspected Covid-19 patients. The announcement was made by the provincial president of the foundation Khalid Waqas Chamkani, who met the medical superintendent of the hospital Dr Fakhruddin as the head of a delegation on Monday.

Head of Al-Khidmat Task Force for coronavirus crisis, Mohammad Shakir Siddique, district president of the foundation, Arbab Abdul Haseeb, and provincial health manager of the foundation Dr Shakeel Ahmad were also present.

Speaking on the occasion, Khalid Waqas stressed the need for joint efforts to deal with the coronavirus crisis. “United we can overcome the worst ever challenge being faced by the country,” he said. He lauded the efforts of doctors and other health professionals in the hour of trial.

Khalid Waqas said that the health professionals and volunteers of different organisations were fighting in the frontline to combat the crisis.He said the foundation has adopted a three-pronged strategy to deal with the crisis. In the first place, 7,000 trained volunteers of the foundation were raising awareness about the people about the disease and the preventive measures.

They were also providing masks, soaps, sanitizers and awareness pamphlets to the people, he said. He said the foundation was active in all the districts of the province and the volunteers busy providing food packages to the poor people. The foundation has handed over all its hospitals and other facilities to the government for the treatment and quarantine of those declared positive with coronavirus, he claimed.
