The SLS Harley Street Montessori Branch celebrated this week with a lot of passion. The week-long celebrations included several activities like collecting donations to help the underprivileged section of the community, sharing food baskets, tea party with the school staff, appreciation station for everyone offering their services to the community and a special morning assembly.

The week started with pep talks that were held in the classrooms in which the teachers discussed with their students about the concept of community work and helping others. Community Service Week was specially celebrated to help and support the students of Bostaan’ilm School which is a non-profit school being run by SLS to educate underprivileged children. Donation boxes were kept in the classrooms and the students generously donated old books, bags, stationary items and gently worn clothes for their fellow friends at Bostaan’ilm.

The Montessori students prepared various presents for community helpers especially their school staff including the helping staff and school guards and thanked them for their services at SLS.

The entire week was about teaching students to practice kindness in different ways. Montessori students prepared food baskets and gifts along with appreciation cards writing heart-warming messages for community helpers. A special morning assembly was also held in which the students performed skits and sang poems delivering a very important message regarding their responsibility towards their community. The students also presented one liners at the end of the assembly emphasising on the fact that small acts of kindness by every individual can help in building an effective community.
