Fawad Khan may not be starring in a Netflix series just yet having denied the rumours and choosing films such as Money Back Guarantee to be directed by Faisal Qureshi and a possible home production, his availability as an actor whose works should be streamed [on Netflix] is impressive.
Khan, who spent three years as a judge on Pepsi Battle of the Bands including 2019, has four titles to his credit that are available on Netflix USA such as Indian production Khoobsurat and his Pakistani projects: TV serials Humsafar (2011), Zindagi Gulzar Hai (2012) and Satrangi.
Fawad Khan is also available on neighbouring India’s Netflix version with Zindagi Gulzar Hai and Humsafar.
While The Legend of Maula Jatt is expected to release this year, Khan is starring in Qureshi’s film as the protagonist and in which he will be joined by Wasim & Shaniera Akram and Mikaal Zulfiqar. Rumours of potential cameos from the likes of Mahira Khan have also begun.
As for original Pakistani content to be produced by Netflix, writer Umera Ahmed of Zindagi Gulzar Hai and Daam has us covered. According to a report in Gulf News, she will start consulting for Netflix soon and has a number of projects lined up. Among them is one on cyber-bullying and another against the backdrop of cricket.
With Money Back Guarantee, it remains to be seen though if Khan returns as a judge on Pepsi Battle of the Bands in 2020 or is replaced due to unavailability of dates.
