Suspect killed in police shootout

KarachiAn alleged bandit was killed in a brief encounter with the Napier police on Friday. Two suspicious armed men were seen roaming on a motorcycle near Afshani Gali in Lyari and when a patrolling mobile of the Napier police signalled them to stop they opened fire on the law enforcers.

An alleged bandit was killed in a brief encounter with the Napier police on Friday.
Two suspicious armed men were seen roaming on a motorcycle near Afshani Gali in Lyari and when a patrolling mobile of the Napier police signalled them to stop they opened fire on the law enforcers.
The police retaliated and in the ensuing shootout one of the suspects was injured while the other escaped.
The suspect was taken to Civil hospital but he died during treatment. The police claimed to have recovered a TT pistol and stolen valuables from his possession.

Rangers raids
The Rangers personnel took 15 suspects into custody during raids in different locations of the city.
According to spokesperson of the paramilitary force, the troops raided areas of Khwaja Ajmair Nagri, Faqeer Colony, Mai Kolachi Road, among other areas and arrested 15 criminals who included a target killer, gangster and extortionist and recovered weapon from them.
