ISLAMABAD: Famed Pakistani actress Mehwish Hayat has received Tamgha-e-Imtiaz on Pakistan Day today for her outstanding performance.
President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi conferred Mehwish Hayat with the award during a ceremony in Islamabad.
The 36-year-old Load Wedding artist had recently been receiving a lot of backlash by people who were criticising her for not having done enough to be receiving Tamgha-i-Imtiaz.
However, greeting started pouring in after she received the award.
Ahead of the highly-anticipated ceremony of Pakistan Civil Awards, famed Pakistani actress Mehwish Hayat in a recent picture come forth shutting up trolls, as she landed at Islamabad airport unfazed by all the staunch criticism, on Friday.
Thanking Allah for this blessing, Mehwish wrote: "Landed in isloo.. living my dream. Thank you Allah mian!!!
In a message on Pakistan Day she stated: "Today let’s think about the vision our forefathers had in Lahore in 1940. I am a proud daughter of Pakistan who can hold her head up high in the world because of their sacrifices".
"But let’s remember what the Quaid said, 'There are two powers in the world. One is the sword and the other the pen. However there is a third power stronger than both, that of the women.' #pakistanzindabad Pakistan hai to hum hain!," she further added.
