PESHAWAR: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) provincial president Humayun Khan on Monday said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government could not bring in economic reforms to revive the economy.

Talking to reporters, the PPP leader said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf rulers deceived the nation in the name of ‘change” and were doing politics for promoting own vested interest.

He said the politics of interests and allegations had created disappointment and unrest among the people.

Humayun Khan said the PTI rulers had committed to bring in reforms in the government institutions and initiate development projects but nothing practical was done for the welfare of the people.

He recalled that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders had promised to bring about a marked change within 90 days in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but they could not do so.

He said the youth was deceived through catchy slogans but now the people have realized the policies of the rulers.

The PPP leader said that the wrong policies of the rulers had made life miserable for the people and they would not be able to win their trust in future.

He said the flawed policies of the rulers ruined businesses and had enhanced problems of the citizens of Peshawar.

Expressing concern over the delay in completing the much-trumpeted Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project, Humayun Khan said the government missed several deadlines to open the project.
