Hazara Division to become hub of CPEC activities: Chinese envoy

ABBOTTABAD: Terming the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor a major development, Chinese Ambassador Yao Jiang on Saturday said Hazara Division would become the hub of bilateral activities between Pakistan and China and Abbottabad city would be having a greater role being the first major city on the trade route.

Yao Jiang was addressing as chief guest at the ceremony of 10th anniversary of Sister City Relationship Kashqar (China) and Abbottabad (Pakistan) at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House and later addressing as chief guest at the Pak-China Friendship Football Match between DG KP Sports Board and Chinese Embassy teams at Army Burn Hall College here.

The Chinese ambassador was delighted to see the development projects taking place in the route of CPEC and said that China and Pakistan were getting closer day by day in every sector.

The ambassador of China Yao Zing and Palestinian Ambassador Husni Abu Ghosh planted a sapling of pine tree on the premises of the college and it was stated that “as the tree will grow, the relations of Pak–China and Palestine will also grow.”

Earlier, Amjad Aziz Malik, secretary general of Malik Saad Sports Trust, in his speech demanded that sports should also be included in CPEC and it will be more beneficiary for the sportsmen of both the countries.

The match which was organised by the Malik Saad Sports Trust in collaboration with the KP Sports Board, Abbottabad Police, Army Burn Hall College and Pak-China Friendship Society.

Souvenirs and gifts were distributed by the principal of Army Burn Hall College Brig Wajid Qayyum Paracha and visiting guest including ambassadors of China and Palestine among the players. The exhibition match was won by the KP Sports Board team by 5-3.
