Streets in Dubai have been adorned with multitude of colors after the kick start of Dubai Canvas, which will showcase 3D art from a variety of artists .
Organized by Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO), the festival titled Dubai Canvas will turn public spaces at Dubai’s La Mer into “open-air canvases” for over 30 artists who have arrived especially to bedeck the streets from all around the globe.
The festival will adorn the streets permanently with numerous forms of art including graffiti, object art, inflatable art and tape art.
Various international and local luminaries from the 3D world of art will be present to interact with the public including; Puerto Rican artist Bikismo who holds the honor of painting the largest mural in the Caribbean, French 3D muralist Etien, Senna, a street artist from Brazil and many others.
Self-taught Emirati artist Sara Yaqoub Al Khoori returning to display her work at the Dubai Canvas states: “As an Emirati artist, I wanted to present the beauty of my city. In 3D art, the accuracy of every centimetre matters because it only works if you look at it a certain way, from a particular viewpoint.”
The 3D festivities that began on March 1st will continue up until March 7th.
