Pakistan is one of the developing countries of the world. During past several years, the country has carried out various development projects and has introduced much-needed reforms in various sectors to uplift the status of the country. However, we cannot achieve progress unless the rigid mentality of our society is changed. It is unfortunate that a majority of people do not give importance to education. The literacy rate is quite low in our country because of which many people do not know about their rights.
Because of this lack of education and awareness, women have suffered a lot. Even in today’s fast-paced 21st century, there are a large number of women who have never been to school or any kind of education institution. They remain indoors, cooking food for their husband and children. Those who speak up for their rights are called rebels and made to feel social outcast. It is time we made girls’ education mandatory. Women deserve to have an independent life where they can make choices for themselves. Our dream of a developed Pakistan can only come true if we work for the empowerment of women.
