KARACHI: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) in its ongoing efforts to control grey traffic has unearthed two illegal gateway exchanges in Lahore and Karachi, a statement said on Wednesday.
Two successful raids against the grey operators were carried out along with the FIA team in Lahore and Karachi, it said. First raid was carried out in Lahore, where an illegal exchange, comprising two gateways, multiple ports and three wimax devices were confiscated. A person was arrested.
Second raid was carried out in Karachi, where an illegal exchange, comprising four gateways, multiple ports, one laptop, three desktops, five LAN switches, two EVOs and four modems, hundreds of SIMs were confiscated. Two persons were arrested and were in the FIA custody for further investigations.
