ISLAMABAD: PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, in connection with his efforts to bring together Muslim Leaguers, called on PML-N’s Zafar Ali Shah at his residence in the federal capital.
Talking to media after the meeting, Zafar said they were standing with Shujaat for the security of Pakistan and national institutions. Shujaat said he had never seen such bad period in the history of Pakistan. “I have been in politics for 40 years. It is highly deplorable that an attempt is being to damage the judiciary in the eyes of the people, but it won’t happen,” he added.
He said they had opposed the electoral reforms bill but did not have a majority, adding that holding elections sans electoral reforms was of no use. Shujaat also said that they would oppose any change in Article 62 63 of the Constitution or for reduction in sentence as introduced in the bill presented by Law Minister Zahid Hamid.
