It seems that Karachi has become a place for demonstration and protests. Workers of different political parties hold protests in the city for several reasons including the water and energy crisis, poor governance, etc. These protests block the main arteries of the city creating traffic jams. This creates a lot of problems for commuters. Traffic remains paralysed for hours. No objective has been achieved with these protests. Concerned authorities give false assurances to the people and the issues remain unresolved. They are nothing more than nuisance for the people.
At times, even vehicles are burned on road to increase the intensity of protests. The protests are staged for valid reasons. Poor governance has taken a toll on the people’s lives. But will the government only listen to the people’s complaints when they come out on streets? What about the discomfort caused by these protests. It is high time the government did something about it.
