• Vine being discontinued: Microblogging website Twitter has announced that it will discontinue its short-form video sharing service Vine in the coming months. Launched in January 2013, the service, which allowed the sharing of six second long looping video clips, soon became one of the most used video sharing applications, reportedly attracting 200 million monthly active users by 2015. The company says that it will keep the website online for archival purposes even after the service itself is discontinued, so that visitors can continue to be able to “watch all the incredible Vines that have been made”.
• Apple unveils new MacBook Pro: Tech giant Apple Inc. has launched the fourth generation of its top-tier line of Macintosh portable computers. MacBook Pro. The new models, which are being described as the “thinnest and lightest MacBook Pro ever”, have replaced the function keys with a Touch Bar – a multi-touch enabled OLED strip built into the top of the keyboard. The prices for the 13 and 15 inch devices range from around $1,499 (the base 13 inch model with a 2.0GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor) to over $2,799 (15 inch model with 2.7GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor) depending on the chosen specs, according to the Apple website (apple.com/shop/buy-mac/macbook-pro).
