It’s been 17 years since Bollywood actress Kajol married her co-actor Ajay Devgn (the two have worked in several films together) and it seems their marriage is as strong as ever.
Kajol, known for her craft and natural acting abilities, left her career on a high when she married Devgn and started a family.
In a new interview, the actress explained why she decided to settle down with the actor. “It was the right thing for me to do at that point of time,” she said in a recent statement. “I had been already working for around eight and a half to nine years. So, I was ready to kind of calm down on my work front and kind of take it easier.”
She also mentioned that she wanted to take it easy on the professional front. “I was doing four to five films a year; I didn’t want to do only that and to only live like that,” she maintained. “That wasn’t what I had set out for. So I assumed that I would get married and do one film a year. I’ll be happier and be more settled,” she added.
Kajol and Devgn got married in 1999 and have two kids; daughter Nysa and son Yug. The actress has appeared in a number of films after giving birth to her daughter including Fanaa, U Me Aur Hum, My Name Is Khan, We Are Family and most recently, Dilwale opposite Shah Rukh Khan.
