QUETTA: A bomb blast occurred near Zarghoon road in Quetta which injured thirteen people on Thursday.
A loud explosion was heard and multiple people were injured as the city was rocked with anotherblast. Rescue officials stated that the bomb blast had taken place near Zarghoon road in Quetta close to a private hospital. Police and law enforcement personnel reached the scene of the blast to cordon off the area. The explosion caused windows of nearby buildings to shatter and two motorcycles as well as a carnear the scene of the blast were also damaged.
According to rescue officials, thirteen people were injured in the attack. The injured were shifted to the Civil Hospital for medical treatment.On Monday, Quetta was rocked by a bomb blast which killed more than seventy people and injured scores of others. The suicide bomb blast had taken place at the Civil Hospital Quetta, where a large number of lawyers had gathered.
Speaking to media personnel, Balochistan Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti claimed that a police vehicle was the target of the blast, which was part of the security details of Justice Zahoor Ahmed Shahwani. Justice Zahoor remained safe in his vehicle and was unhurt. He also revealed that all the injured had been provided medical treatment and they were out of danger. Bugti stated that such terrorist attacks were meant to sabotage the August 14 celebrations and activities.
Stating that the government was improving security arrangements in the precautions, he also disclosed that the bomb was detonated via a remote control device.
He said that 3-4 kilograms of explosive materials were used in the blast.
