Ali Zafar to sing a qawwali for a Punjabi film

After enthralling many with his spectacular performance and a heartwarming qawwali (dedicated to the late Amjad Sabri) at the LSAs, last month, rockstar Ali Zafar is set to lend his voice for another qawwali. According to reports, the singer-turned-actor has been approached to sing a qawwali for an upcoming Punjabi film.

After enthralling many with his spectacular performance and a heartwarming qawwali (dedicated to the late Amjad Sabri) at the LSAs, last month, rockstar Ali Zafar is set to lend his voice for another qawwali. According to reports, the singer-turned-actor has been approached to sing a qawwali for an upcoming Punjabi film.

According to reports, the qawwali will be part of a special sequence in the film and Zafar will also have a few dialogues alongside the qawwali. The actor is currently working on his pronunciation of the Punjabi language.

“I am proactive towards my passion for music,” Zafar told The Indian Express in a press statement. “I want to explore all the verticals of music from romantic songs to qawwalis to rock scores and anthems. There is a request for a qawwali in a Punjabi film,” he noted.

Besides this, the actor is all set to play the role of a musician in his next Bollywood outing, Dear Zindagi, alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt whom he’ll be romancing in the film. The film is expected to release on November 25, this year.
