PESHAWAR: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Thursday arrested a terror suspect and recovered an explosive device from his possession.
An official of the CTD said they had arrested Yousaf, a resident of Shaheen Muslim Town, a suspected terrorist, along with four kilograms of explosives and detonator which was stuffed in a cooking oil tin.
As per the first information report, lodged by Sub-Inspector CTD Muhammad Ayaz, the CTD Peshawar received information that the terrorist, who belonged to a banned militant organisation, was planning terrorist activity in the provincial capital.
The official said the CTD through a successful operation arrested the terrorist along with the explosive during a raid on the Charsadda Road. He said the terrorist was shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation. The official said the terrorist was wanted to the police in various terrorism cases.
DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Police on Thursday recovered rocket shells and a hand-grenade from a poultry farm in the limits of Nawab Police Station, official sources said.
They said acting on a tip off, a police party led by Station House Officer Raza Bacha Khan raided a poultry farm at Khani Koroona in Ghulam Ghazni area of the district and recovered two shells of RPG-7 rocket and a hand grenade. Police registered a case against unidentified accused and started an investigation.
