Islamabad: In a major move to ease the lives of working women in the federal capital, authorities have approved plans to set up a dedicated hostel in Islamabad’s I-9 sector. The approval came from the capital’s civil body, CDA, on the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Under the plans, the building of the Special Education Centre in I-9/4 will be repurposed into a fully functional working women’s hostel. The decision follows a joint request by the education and human rights ministries to address the pressing demand for secure and budget-friendly accommodation for women professionals in the city. The CDA has formally communicated the hostel's approval to the education ministry.
