LAHORE:A seminar titled 'Save Water – Save the Future of Pakistan' was held here, focusing on the growing water crisis in the country.
The event featured expert opinions from Dr Mansoor Hashmi and Dr M Nawaz Chaudhry from NESPAK, along with former MD of Wasa Mian Abdullah, Mian Nabeel Ashraf, Khalid Javaid, and Dr Muhammad Sadiq. The speakers at the seminar urged the government to prioritise the development of water reservoirs. They emphasised that ignoring Pakistan’s worsening water crisis is equivalent to putting future generations at risk. They warned that if proper measures are not taken, Pakistan could face extreme water scarcity by the year 2035. They also highlighted that 80% of diseases in the country are caused by contaminated water. Agriculture, the backbone of Pakistan’s economy, is incomplete without a reliable water supply.
