LAKKI MARWAT: The district administration has fixed wheat threshing rates in Lakki Marwat to facilitate farmers to get their harvested crops threshed on control rates.
The new rates applicable till further orders were fixed during a meeting held at the Tehsil Building in Lakki city with Assistant Commissioner Faqir Hussain in the chair.
Officials of the agriculture department and representatives of tractors’ owners and farmers’ bodies were in attendance. The wheat harvesting season is expected to kick off in the district during the ongoing week.
An official said that after the meeting, the assistant commissioner notified the new rates under the Price Control and Prevention of Profiteering and Hoarding Act 1997.
He said that the owners of thresher machines operated by Massey/Fiat small tractors would charge Rs 4,000 per hour while they would receive Rs4,400 per hour from wheat growers for the threshers run by Russian large tractors.
