The Johi area has been hit hard by water shortages, the decline of agriculture and the unavailability of alternative opportunities for those affected. Lack of access to quality education, poor health facilities and ineffective public institutions are also significant challenges. Sadly, drugs, smuggling and crime have filled this socio-political vacuum.
This situation has put the young people of the area under high risk. The concerned law enforcement intuitions and political and social leadership of the area must take strict action to counteract these trends.
