LAHORE:In a moment of great pride for Pakistan, Prof Qamar Hussain Abbasi, an alumnus of the UET, Lahore, has been appointed as a member of the Scottish Science Advisory Council (SSAC) — the highest scientific advisory body in Scotland that guides ministers and the government on science policy. Prof Abbasi is the first Pakistani to be appointed to this prestigious position, marking a significant achievement for the nation.
