Imam suffers mild concussion

LAHORE: Pakistan team batter Imam-ul-Haq sustained a mild facial injury during a match against New Zealand, following an accidental throw from a New Zealand fielder while he was batting. The incident occurred in the middle of play, prompting immediate medical attention on the field.

Imam was swiftly transferred to Tauranga Hospital for a comprehensive evaluation. A CT scan of his head and face was conducted, which thankfully revealed no abnormalities. Following the clinical examination, doctors confirmed that the left-handed opener had suffered a mild concussion.

According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Imam is currently in stable condition and reported to be feeling better. The medical specialists have recommended a two-week rest period from all sporting activities to ensure a safe and complete recovery.

He has also been declared fit for air travel, allowing the team management flexibility in planning logistics for upcoming fixtures. The Pakistan team’s medical panel will continue to closely monitor his condition and recovery progress in coordination with the hospital specialists.
