QUETTA: Balochistan National Party (BNP) chief and former chief minister Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal Thursday announced that the long march will depart for Quetta on April 6 at 9am.

He made this statement while addressing the participants of a sit-in at Lakpas here. Mengal criticised the government, stating that their voices were being ignored but now they will raise their demands in Quetta’s political arena for public welfare.

He asserted that he will decide the location of the next sit-in, emphasizing that their struggle was for honor and dignity.

He accused the current government of incompetence and illegitimacy, stating that despite repeated efforts to communicate their concerns, the authorities had refused to listen to or acknowledge their demands. Now, their voices will echo through the streets of Quetta, he warned.

Mengal reiterated that the long march was peaceful and warned that if any action was taken, the government and establishment would be held fully responsible. He also urged every Baloch and Pashtun to stand shoulder to shoulder with their sisters in this struggle.
