MANSEHRA: Inmates at the district jail here celebrated Eidul Fitr joyfully and enthusiastically.
They were offered a special feast and sweets, while many danced to the beat of drums in a celebration.
“We are here to share love and affection with you on this auspicious day. Your time here should serve as a valuable lesson, helping you grow and improve,” District Police Officer Shafiullah Khan Gandapur said at the colourful event held inside the jail.
Deputy Commissioner Khalid Iqbal and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s provincial vice president, Kamal Saleem Swati, were also in attendance.
The visiting guests distributed gifts among the inmates and shared a meal with them.
The deputy commissioner directed the prison superintendent to ensure that all inmates received the rights enshrined in the jail manual, helping them reintegrate as productive members of society. Kamal Saleem Swati encouraged inmates to cultivate good character during their time in prison so they could lead better lives after their release.
The jubilant inmates also shared their problems and concerns with the visiting officials.
