Security has also been heightened at public places where more people are expected to turn up during the festival. The security for senior politicians in different districts of KP has also been increased on Eid due to the overall law and order situation in the last few weeks.

The eidgahs and important mosques will be swept by the bomb disposal unit teams before the Eid prayers. In different districts, patrolling by the rider squad and police cars has been increased while surveillance of all entry and exit routes tightened.

In Peshawar, over 3,500 policemen will perform duty to maintain peace during the Eid. Leaves of all police personnel have been canceled.

Additional police personnel will be deployed in all important markets and highways of the city.

Police personnel in plain clothes have been deployed to keep a close eye on suspects and suspicious persons entering the city.

Also, additional police personnel have been deployed at all sensitive places and government buildings in the city. Armored personnel carriers, Special Combat Unit, BDU and teams with sniffer dogs will be deployed to check suspicious activity in crowded places, bazaars, Eidgah and mosques.

The people in posh townships and other areas have been asked to inform police in case of leaving for their hometowns so that police can ensure security for their houses in the absence of families.
