LAHORE : Secretary Department of Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Azmat Mahmood paid a surprise visit to Lahore General Hospital (LGH) and Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) on Saturday.
During LGH visit, Special Secretary Operations Tariq Mahmood Rahmani, MS General Hospital Dr Faryad and MS Punjab Institute of Neurosciences were also present on this occasion was also present.
The Secretary Health Punjab visited the patients and took feedback on the medical facilities. During the visit, the provision of medicines in the hospital, attendance of doctors, medical facilities in the Chief Minister's Complaints Cell and other departments were reviewed.
Azmat expressed his displeasure with the administration over the rush of relatives in the emergency area and directed to increase the waiting area and benches in front of the emergency.
During Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) visit of Secretary Health Punjab, Special Secretary Operations Tariq Mahmood Rehmani and Additional Secretary Technical Dr M Waseem were also accompanied. Secretary Health Punjab visited the patients and took feedback on medical facilities.
During the visit, the provision of medicines in the hospital, attendance of doctors, medical facilities in the Chief Minister’s Complaints Cell and other departments were reviewed.
The Secretary Health Punjab directed the Executive Director to correct the public address system in the hospital. Doctors were directed to perform their duties in overcoats. MS was directed to issue warnings to doctors who deviate from government instructions and do not wear overcoats.
Executive Director Prof Bilal Mohiuddin and MS Dr. Amir Rafique Butt were also present on the occasion. As per the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, on the spot instructions have been issued regarding patient care. The situation is being reviewed by visiting different government hospitals.
