HYDERABAD: A case has been registered against journalist Abdul Khalif, alias AK Chauhan, in Khairpur district under the Peca Act.

The FIR 94/2025 was registered against the journalist at the Khairpur A Section police station under the Peca law by SHO Iqbal Noon.

The FIR claims that AK Chauhan had reported a story for a local newspaper claiming on the basis of unsubstantiated allegations that Khairpur SSP Toheed Rehman and the police system of the district was compromised.

It also claimed that the journalist has used abusive language against officers on social media and resorted to their character assassination.

The journalist, however, stated that he stood with his story that he had filed through confirmed sources. He added that he had been booked because he had exposed political interference and corruption in the police, stating that he was not afraid of fake cases.
