LAHORE:A police constable posted at Gulab Mandi police station has been charged with forgery after allegedly preparing fake bail bonds and court orders to illegally clear an accused in a criminal case.
According to the FIR, Constable Yasin, who was serving as an assistant court officer, fabricated judicial documents to secure the release of a suspect. The fraud came to light when a magistrate detected discrepancies in the paperwork and filed a written complaint with Lahore CCPO.
"An inquiry proved Yasin prepared counterfeit court orders and bail bonds," a police spokesperson said. The case has been registered under charges of forgery and exceeding official authority.
Suspect arrested for attempting assault on minor girl
Ghalib Market Police arrested a suspect for attempting to assault a five year-old girl in a local park. The incident occurred when the victim, ‘S’, was playing near a canal. The suspect identified as Bilal allegedly lured her before attempting the assault, but bystanders intervened after hearing her screams.
Police apprehended the fleeing suspect and registered a case under child protection laws. DIG Investigations Syed Zeeshan Raza has ordered a thorough probe, emphasising zero tolerance for crimes against children.
Three addicts found dead
Three unidentified men - suspected drug addicts - were found dead near Badami Bagh, Kahna, and Lorry Adda. Rescue officials attributed the deaths to overdoses. Police shifted the bodies for autopsies and launched efforts to identify the deceased.
Meanwhile, two fatalities were reported in separate traffic accidents, including a 35-year-old woman, Samira, who succumbed to injuries in Hair area. In Liaqatabad, 26-year-old Shahzad died days after a collision.
