ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi has emphasised that litigants, as primary stakeholders in the justice system, deserve the highest level of respect, reaffirming the judiciary’s commitment to upholding justice and maintaining public trust.
During an interactive session held Tuesday with heads of various Supreme Court sections, Justice Afridi reviewed ongoing judicial reforms aimed at improving service delivery and expanding access to justice. The meeting was attended by Supreme Court Registrar Muhammad Salim Khan, development expert Sher Shah, Federal Judicial Academy DG Hayat Ali Shah and Law and Justice Commission Secretary Syeda Tanzeela Sabahat.
The CJP highlighted key reform initiatives, including the digitalisation of court processes, enhanced accessibility, streamlined procedures, and greater accountability and transparency in judicial operations. He stressed that these measures are designed not only to reduce case backlogs but also to ensure timely and effective justice for all litigants. The session showcased significant achievements, particularly the successful implementation of the e-Filing system. The IT directorate also presented progress reports on integrating digital technologies and establishing new mechanisms to further improve the transparency and accessibility of judicial processes, according to a press release issued by the Supreme Court’s Public Relations Department.
