NEW YORK: Congressman Tom Suozzi, the head of Pakistan Caucus in US Congress, has said Republican President Trump’s immigration policies and other actions have created an atmosphere of uncertainty in various spheres of American life and politics.

In an interview to the “Jang,” he said that the situation would not last longer. “President Trump’s popularity is not very high. Republicans have a majority of only a few seats in the House of Representatives and a majority of only one or two seats in the Senate. President Trump will soon need the support of the Democratic members of Congress, then they will play their role,” he added.

Earlier, addressing a gathering at the residence Dr. Ijaz Ahmed, the founder president of APPAC, an organization to promote Pak-US relations, he said that he was holding an important gathering on April 30 regarding Pak-US relations, while he has also planned a visit Pakistan in the next few months. He also mentioned his recent meeting with the Pakistani ambassador.

Speaking on the occasion, APPAC’s newly-elected president, Dr. Iqbal Pervez, said he would further activate the organization and make it more effective. The US Congressman also cut a cake to mark Pakistan Day.
