LAHORE:The Punjab Planning and Development Board (P&D) in collaboration with the Punjab SDGs Support Unit and the Punjab Resource Management and Policy Unit (PRMPU) has launched a series of consultative training workshops to integrate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into Punjab’s development planning and budgeting framework.
Chief Economist P&D Board, Masood Anwar, graced the opening session. The initiative aims to enhance awareness and build institutional capacity for aligning Punjab’s Annual Development Plan (ADP) with SDG priorities, ensuring effective policy planning, budgeting, and monitoring. In the inaugural remarks, Chief Economist P&D Board Masood Anwar emphasised the significance of embedding SDGs targets within the provincial development agenda. He reiterated the P&D Board’s commitment to strengthening institutional capacities and fostering evidence-based policymaking to bridge the existing gaps in SDGs implementation.
The first day of the training session covered the social sector departments, with the training set to continue for two more days, covering additional sectors. Participants were briefed on Punjab progress toward the SDGs.
