KARACHI: Zakaul Mustafa Awan, a management professional, has become the first Pakistani to earn the PMI-CP (Construction Professional in Built Environment Projects) certification from the US-based Project Management Institute (PMI), marking a milestone for the country’s construction sector. With over two decades of experience in high-rise construction, Building Information Modelling (BIM), and project leadership, Awan’s certification highlights his expertise in managing complex projects and implementing digital and sustainable construction practices.
His achievement positions him among globally recognised construction professionals and is expected to strengthen Pakistan’s presence in international project management. Awan aims to use his certification to lead large-scale developments, mentor industry professionals and drive innovation in the sector. The PMI-CP certification is a specialised credential designed to validate advanced construction project management skills, focusing on efficiency, risk management and sustainable practices.
