KARACHI: Storm Warriors won the Aga Khan Gymkhana Premier League when they beat United Hurricanes by 8 runs in the final at the AKG Ground here on Saturday night.

Strom Warriors scored 186-5, with Mir Naseeb Noor Ali smashing a hurricane 82 run off 56 balls with eight fours and two sixes and Ubaid Rehman blasting two fours and two sixes in a 24-ball knock of 36. Jalal Ullah contributed 20 runs.

Medium pacer Pervaiz Ali grabbed two wickets for just two runs. Deedar Akbar, Awais Ullah Baig and Zahid Iqbal took one wicket each. United Hurricanes, in reply, ended up totaling 178-10 in allotted 20 overs. Aameer Qureshi was the top scorer with 67 off 39 balls, with four boundaries and three sixes while Pervaiz Ali contributed 37 off 29 balls with five fours and one six.

Asad Ali Khowaja and Shayna Ali captured three wicketseach. Awais Ullah Baig took 2 wickets for 8 runs. Naseeb Noor Ali (400 runs) was declared tournament’s best batsman and Man of the final. Shayan Ali (11 wickets) was named the best bowler while Saud-Islam (400 runs and 7 wickets ) was man-of-the tournament.
