YDA concerned over rising dog bite incidents

LAHORE : The Young Doctor Association (YDA), Pakistan, has said that the number of stray dogs across Punjab is increasing.

Thousands of people have been affected by dog biting for the past few months. According to a press release issued here on Wednesday, YDA Pakistan General Secretary Dr Salman Kazmi that dog bites are spreading a fatal disease like rabies, which causes the patient to die within 14 days, so far a dangerous disease like rabies has affected many lives in Punjab.

He said that some elements in this regard are trying to mislead the government not to kill stray dogs, which is equivalent to playing with human lives.

He appealed to the chief minister that orders should be issued to the deputy commissioners across Punjab, including Lahore, to play a vital role in eliminating the stray dogs in their own district, so that human lives can be saved.
