Islamabad:Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani emphasised the vast investment opportunities in Pakistan, particularly in the tourism and hospitality sectors, during an ‘Iftar’ dinner held at the Movenpick Hotel Centaurus. The event, hosted by Islamabad Developers Association President and Centaurus Group CEO Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan and President Dr. Rashid Ilyas Khan, was attended by prominent figures, including federal ministers Hanif Abbasi, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Amir Muqam, diplomats from over 70 countries, government officials, and heads of leading business institutions from the twin cities.

Gilani spoke on the significance of such gatherings in showcasing Pakistan’s potential across various sectors, particularly in tourism, which he described as a sector brimming with untapped potential. He highlighted that Islam encourages religious tolerance and patience, and Pakistan’s rich cultural and historical heritage offers vast opportunities for religious tourism and other related industries. He added that establishment of First 6 star hotel in Capital is welcome.

Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, in his remarks, pointed out that the primary aim of such interactive events is to foster economic cooperation between Pakistani and international representatives. He emphasised that Pakistan’s tourism sector has the potential to generate over $40 billion annually in revenue, citing the establishment of the first six-star hotel in Islamabad as an example of the growing interest from investors in the country.

Dr. Rashid Ilyas Khan added that the Hotel serves as a unique platform to connect local and global stakeholders, offering opportunities for collaboration and mutual learning. He stated that the hotel, as a symbol of luxury and excellence, represents Pakistan as a prime destination for investment in all sectors, including hospitality, infrastructure, and tourism.

The evening was marked by insightful discussions and shared visions for Pakistan’s future, with leaders stressing the importance of strengthening economic ties and promoting the country’s capabilities to the global community.
