LAHORE:Experts Monday stressed stronger media engagement, child participation in decision-making, and climate resilience programmes to combat child labour.
Addressing a session organised by Search for Justice and the National Commission on the Rights of the Child (NCRC) its Chairperson Ayesha Raza Farooq highlighted the importance of investigative journalism in shaping policies and ensuring transparency.
The event, held in collaboration with Kindernothilfe eV, was also addressed by Executive Director of Search for Justice, Iftikhar Mubarik, who stressed the need for strict enforcement of child labour laws in the province.
The speakers also highlighted the role of media in strengthening child rights governance by ensuring accountability and public awareness. Journalists proposed a Child Rights Media Fellowship and district-level networks to enhance child-sensitive reporting.
