A woman lost her life after falling from the fourth floor of an apartment in Khayaban-e-Muslim Commercial Area, Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase VI, during a raid conducted by the Darakhshan police.

According to a spokesperson for the District South police, the police had earlier arrested a drug dealer, Obaid, booked in the FIR 181/25 registered at the Darakhshan police station. During interrogation, Obaid revealed that a woman named Afsheen was his partner in drug trafficking.

Based on this information, police raided Afsheen's apartment in Defence Phase VI to arrest her. Despite repeated knocks on her door, she did not open it. Instead, she attempted to climb down from her balcony using a water pipe, which broke, causing her to fall.

Afsheen, who was 35 years old and living alone in the apartment, was rushed to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre in an Edhi ambulance where she succumbed to her injuries. Police initially suspected her death to be suicide, but further investigations revealed that it was accidental as they found the broken water pipe she was holding onto.

During the search of her apartment, liquor bottles and narcotics were found. The initial report suggests that she was a drug addict. After the post-mortem and other formalities, her body was handed over to her family members. Further investigations are under way.
