LAHORE:Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique has said under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, efforts are being made to provide people with best health facilities.
The minister was speaking at a foundation stone laying ceremony of a water tank to conserve rainwater in Tajpura. Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique while addressing the participants of the ceremony said, ‘We are very grateful to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. Director Construction, Wasa, Muhammad Kashif Minhas and XEN Zohaib have worked very hard for this project. According to the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the problem of ponding in Tajpura area of constituency PP-153 is going to be solved on a permanent basis. To rid the Tajpura area of ponding, two underground rainwater storage tanks will be built.
‘Underground rainwater storage tanks of 1.9 million gallons will be built in Amina Park and more than 2.1 million gallons in Babri Park’. Khawaja Salman Rafique said that projects worth eight and a half billion rupees will also be completed for the adjacent settlements of Harbanspura under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
‘Asia's largest Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research is being built in Lahore at a cost of Rs78 billion. In addition, state-of-the-art Nawaz Sharif Institutes of Cardiology are being built in Lahore and Sargodha. Emergency services are being provided on the motorway from Attock to Rahim Yar Khan. More than three hundred new ambulances will be provided to the Punjab Emergency Services Department this year.
‘Punjab is the first province in Pakistan to start the air ambulance service, the minister said. He added that trauma and cardiac patients are shifted to Lahore from Mianwali and Bahawalnagar on a daily basis through the air ambulance service. The projects will be started in this area after Eidul Fitr.
On this occasion, Vice Chairman, Wasa, Chaudhry Shahbaz, MD Ghufran, former Chairman UC 148 Mian Irfan, Riffat, Akhlaq Shah, Wahab Malik, Hafiz Aleem and a large number of workers were present.
The minister also visited Al-Maki Al-Madani Dialysis Centre Tajpura Scheme. He attended the seminar and distributed commemorative shields. On this occasion, Dr Jamil, Munir Hussain Shahid, Sher Afzal, Abdul Salam, Sadaqat Ali, Imtiaz Baig, Malik Hameed, Mian Bashir Shaheen, Ahmed Raza, Muhammad Iftikhar, Muhammad Yousaf, Muhammad Naeem, Sheikh Pervez, Dr Intikhab Noori and Professor Zaheer Akhtar and other socio-political figures participated.
