LAHORE: Six out of every 10 citizens of Punjab are satisfied with the performance of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and her government.
This was revealed in a survey report by the Institute for Public Opinion Research (IPOR) in which more than 6,000 citizens from 36 districts of Punjab participated. The survey was conducted between February 3 and 18, 2025.
Sixty-two percent of the citizens of the province surveyed were satisfied with the performance of Punjab government. Seventeen percent expressed dissatisfaction while 21% said performance was acceptable. One percent did not answer this question.
In the survey, 59pc of citizens were satisfied with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s performance, while 24pc considered the performance acceptable. However, 16pc of the citizens found the performance to be bad. One percent refrained from giving any opinion on this question. The sector in which citizens were most satisfied with the performance of provincial government was education. Seventy-three percent said performance was good, while 25pc said it was bad.
In the health sector, 68pc said the performance was good, while 30 percent said it was bad. In infrastructure, 66pc were satisfied with the performance, while 33pc dissatisfied. bout public order and peace, 67pc said it was good, while 31pc said it was bad. However, 63pc of the citizens participated in the survey were angry with the provincial government over lack of employment. Thirty-six percent expressed satisfaction with the performance in this sector.
On the question of governance compared to the past year, 57pc of citizens said governance has improved. Seventeen percent said it has worsened, while 24pc said there has been no difference in governance compared to the past year.
The IPOR further asked the citizens whether Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has been successful in solving the public and governance problems of the province. Fifty-seven percent answered in the affirmative. However, 36pc considered her a failure in this. Seven percent said they did not know anything about it.
