LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has penalized eight national players with fines totaling approximately PKR 3 million for various breaches of its code of conduct since the home Test series against England last year.

Among those disciplined, all-rounder Aamer Jamal received the heaviest punishment—approximately PKR 1.3 million—for wearing a cap with a political slogan during the first Test against England in October 2024. During the Australia Tour (November 2024), three players—Salman Ali Agha, Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique—were fined PKR 500,000 each for returning late to the team hotel during Pakistan’s white-ball tour to Australia.

For violations during the South Africa tour, four players, including Salman Ali Agha, Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique and Abbas Afridi, breached team curfew during the South Africa tour. Each was fined $200 for returning two minutes late to the hotel. However, the fines were later refunded as a reward for the team’s stunning 3-0 ODI series victory against South Africa.
