ISLAMABAD: The Central Selection Board meeting continued for the third day on Thursday under the chairmanship of FPSC Chairman Lt-Gen (retd) Akhtar Nawaz Satti.
On the third day of the board meeting, out of the total of 478 officers from various services and grades, more than 150 officers were recommended for promotion to Grade 20 and 21.
The board meeting will continue today (Friday). According to sources, recommendations for promotion of X-cadre officers from Grades 19 to 20 and 20 to 21 in addition to the Pakistan Administrative Service, Police Service, Postal Group, Military Lands and Cantonment Group were approved. Under the Establishment Division, 78 officers were considered for promotion from Grade 20 to 21 of the Police Service of Pakistan, while 123 officers were considered for promotion from Grade 19 to 20.
According to sources, in the Central Selection Board meeting, it was recommended to promote 17 police service officers from Grade 20 to Grade 21. The 17 officers who were promoted as Additional IGs in Grade 21 include Waqar Ahmed Chohan, Khurram Shakoor, Saad Akhtar and Azad Khan, Zaeem Iqbal Sheikh, Shahzad Sultan, Flight Lieutenant (retd) Wasim Ahmed Khan, Zulfiqar Larak, Sharjeel Karim Kharal, Iqbal Dara Dayo, Muhammad Tahir, Abbas Ahsan, Syed Khurram Ali, Humayun Bashir Tarar, Muhammad Jaffer, Dr. Tariq Chohan and Shakeel Ahmed Durrani.
Recommendations for promotion of 32 police officers to Grade 20 as DIGs have been approved. Those promoted include Fawaduddin Riaz Qureshi, Muhammad Ali Nekokara, Imran Shaukat, Faisal Bashir Memon, Junaid Ahmed, Hassan Asad Alvi, Aitzaz Ahmed Goraya, Ismatullah, Dr. Farrukh Ali, Qasim Ali, Agha Tahir Alauddin, Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmed, Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera, Omar Riaz, Muhammad Haroon Joya, Asad Sarfaraz Khan, Captain (R) Muhammad Ali Zia, Najib-ul-Ran Bagvi, Muhammad Umar Farooq Salamat, Sahibzada Bilal Umar, Amir Abdullah Niazi, Irfanullah Khan, Mustafa Hameed Malik, Wazir Khan Nasir, Barkat Hussain Khosa, Imran Shahid, Muhammad Quraish Khan, Sajjad Khan, Gul Wali Khan, Shaukat Ali, Shad Ibn Masih, Syed Muhammad Abbas Rizvi.
According to the sources, Maqsood Baloch, Zaheer Khattak and Aftab Rashid of the Postal Group were promoted from Grade 20 to 21, while Grade 20 officer Adnan Diyar was not promoted despite being higher in seniority, who currently holds the position of Joint Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Construction, under Section 10.
Postal Group’s Nadia Amin, Saadia Naseem, Saeed Kakar, Khalifa Thakur and Faisal Tahseen have been promoted to Grade 20.
A panel of 8 officers for promotion to the post of Additional Director General (Grade 21) and 3 officers for promotion to the post of Director Law (Grade 20) in the FIA under the Ministry of Interior was reviewed.
Panels of 41 officers for promotion from Grade 20 to 21 and 127 officers for promotion from Grade 19 to 20 in the Pakistan Administrative Service were considered. An officer will be reviewed for promotion to Director General (Grade 20) in Pakistan Mint under the Ministry of Finance. A panel of 5 officers for promotion from Grade 20 to 21 and 5 officers for promotion from Grade 19 to 20 of the Military Lands and Cantonment Group under the Ministry of Defence was considered. A panel comprising 3 officers for promotion to the post of DG (Grade 21) and 7 officers for promotion to Deputy DG (Grade 20) in ISI was reviewed. The panel of 6 officers for Chief Engineer (Grade 20) E&C Branch being considered for promotion is also included.
Furthermore, in the education sector, the federal government will review panels consisting of 3 officers for promotion of female principals (Grade 20), 4 officers for male professors (Grade 20), 3 officers for female professors (Grade 20) and 2 officers for male principals (Grade 20) under educational institutions.
