We’re the Millersfans were left disappointed after Will Poulter provided an update on a possible sequel to the comedy film.
While promoting his upcoming film Death of a Unicorn at SXSW, he spoke to the People Magazine about discussion regarding the potential sequel of his 2013 film.
"There was, I think. I don't think it's gonna happen. I mean, no one else is [but] I’m too old now. But, yeah, it was a fun time."
Poulter was only 19 when he filmed the movie starring alongside, Jason Sudeikis, Emma Roberts and Jennifer Aniston.
The movie follows David (Sudeikis), a small-time drug dealer tasked with forming a fake family in order to smuggle weed. Rose (Aniston), portrayed a stripper who poses as his wife. Meanwhile, Casey (Roberts) is a runaway teen and Poulter's character Kenny, joins them in pretending to be their son.
"People are really nice about the movie," Poulter said. "I'm always shocked at just how many people have seen the film. It's really nice that people watch it and seem to enjoy it. I was certainly very lucky to be in it."
Previously, as per The Hollywood Reporter the New Line Cinema was set to be moving forward with a sequel to We're the Millers, but the movie never materialised.
In 2023, Aniston while promoting for Murder Mystery 2, said, "We're the Millers, that didn't happen. I don't remember what happened, but I think there was talk of that."
While the sequel is no more in sight, Poulter is taking on the role of another dark comedy with Death of A Unicorn.
The Death of a Unicorn is slated for release on March 28th, also staring Paul Rudd, Jenna Ortega and Richard E. Grant, among others.
